Player of the Week: Jordan McClelland

Ivybridge College’s Jordan McClelland has been named the EABL Player of the Week, for games played through the week beginning 11th November 2013.

The 6’2″ guard from Ireland scored 20 points and set the tone defensively as he helped the Plymouth Raiders Academy come out with a 75-67 victory over The Harefield Academy.

“The game against Harefield was probably my favourite game I’ve played this season because it was at home and we had a lot of support watching the game,” he said. “We played great as a team everyone played their part in that game, everyone just wanted to win it so much. The bench was involved throughout the game, supporting the players on court and ready to play when called on. It was a great win.”

McClelland went 7/11 from the field, adding 4 rebounds and 4 assists as Ivybridge moved to 4-0 to keep their perfect record intact as they sit atop the South West Conference.

“So far we are 4-0 in the league and we are continuing to get better. Every game we play we can see improvements from how we played in our last performance and I still believe we haven’t reached our full potential yet.

“I came over here from Ireland and I feel at home with this team. We have a great squad with great potential.”

McClelland, in his first year competing in the EABL, is currently third in the league in scoring, at 26 points per game, ninth in two point field goal percentage at 66.7%, and eighth in free throw shooting, making them at an 82.4% clip..
