Player of the Week: Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye

South Gloucestershire & Stroud College’s Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye has become the second player this season to pick up multiple Player of the Week awards, after being named Player of the Week for games played during the week beginning 2nd December 2013 (Week 10).

The 6’3″ guard had just the second triple double of the EABL season, as SGS kept their perfect record intact with an 84-71 victory over The Harefield Academy.

“We knew it wasn’t going easy,” said Lautier-Ogunleye when looking back at the game. “Being away, and Harefield having a lot of players in their last year of U19s which had been playing together for a while.

“We had to make the game uncomfortable and get them out their flow quickly to win. Our team stepped up really well and that gave us the edge to win. Everyone from the starters to players of the bench contributed.

“And my performance I was happy with; just tried to do everything to get the win and ended up with the first triple double I’ve recorded. I’ve been close before, but it was nice to get one as it kind of shows my versatility.”

Lautier-Ogunleye had 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, going 6/14 from the field and 4/4 at the line as SGS improved to 5-0.

He is averaging 14.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game through SGS’ five games so far..
