Player of the Week: Kavell Bigby-Williams

Harris Academy Beckenham’s Kavell Bigby-Williams has been named the EABL Player of the Week for games played through the week beginning 25th November 2013.

The 6’9″ England Under-18 international, exploded for a season-high 30 points, along with 16 rebounds to lead Harris to a 77-42 win over County Upper. He helped Steve Bucknall’s side improve to 4-1 and jump to the top of the South East Conference, as they look to defend their title.

” I am truly grateful to be recognised as Player of the Week,” said Bigby-Williams upon hearing he had won the award. “There is a lot of good and talented players out there who could have achieved this.

“I felt that I played pretty well; I brought the energy as one of the leaders in the team, I felt my teammates fed off that energy and brought the intensity as well.”

Kavell is now averaging 18.2 points, 15.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game so far this season, as he completes his last season in the UK before heading off to the US on a full scholarship with NCAA Division 1 school Montana State University..
