Player of the Week: Kavell Bigby-Williams

Harris Academy Beckenham’s Kavell Bigby-Williams has been named EABL Player of the Week for games played during the week beginning 10th March 2014.

Bigby-Williams picks up his second Player of the Week award, as he put in one of the most dominant performances of the season as he finished with 22 points, 23 rebounds and 11 blocks to lead Harris past BA, 53-49 in a top of the South East Conference table clash.

“I think the game went well; it was an important game that will probably determine where we finish in the conference,” said Bigby-Williams.

“It against one of the best teams in the country so its always going to be a tough game, despite the fact that a few of Barking Abbey’s international players weren’t playing.”

And of his own performance, he added:

“Knowing it was a big game I knew I had to play my best. Being one of the leaders on my team I tried to lead by example and it paid off, as we got a well earned win and I ended up having the best game of my career recording my first triple double.”

It was defending champions Harris’ 10th straight win, as they will look to continue their streak next week at home against Canterbury High School..
