Player of the Week: Tyrell Isaacs

Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College’s Tyrell Isaacs has been named EABL Player of the Week for games played during the week beginning 17th March 2014.

Isaacs went 11 of 14 from the field, and 11 of 12 at the line for his 34 points, adding 2 rebounds and 2 assists as EHWLC defeated BHASVIC 86-80.

“I knew that the game versus BHASVIC wasn’t going to be an easy game for us,” said Isaacs. “With the chance of us making the playoffs it made it an even bigger game. They were a well drilled team with one of the best big men in the league but we came together as a team in the second half and gave it our all on the defensive end and that’s really what put the game away for us.”

With the win EHWLC improved to 6-6 to climb into the fourth and final playoff spot position in the South West.

“I knew that for us to win I had to be ready to step up when needed and make sure everything was going how it needed to be,” added Tyrell. “When I needed to I had to be the one who stepped up for my team and I believe that the game was my best performance this year, not just on the offensive end, but defensively too.”

Tyrell and EHWLC will now take on Ivybridge Community College on Friday 28th March to try and get a stranglehold on the final playoff spot in the South West Conference..
