Player of the Week: Kyle Carey

Myerscough College’s Kyle Carey has been named the EABL Player of the Week for Week 16, the final week of the 2015-16 regular season.

Carey had 31 points and 13 rebounds on 13/24 shooting while leading Myerscough to an 85-73 win over Charnwood to secure the number 1 seed in the West Conference with an undefeated regular season record.

“I knew as soon as Alex (Roberts) went down I’d have to step up,” Kyle said.

“My team mates found me in the right spots and I got some rhythm. We know we have to step up for the playoffs – I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Carey added 2 assists, 4 steals and a block for good measure.

“Kyle is a total competitor,” Myerscough Head Coach Neal Hopkins said. “He works extremely hard every day and has really developed his game this year, he is playing with a great level of understanding and is hugely instinctive – it’s great to see his growth recognised in receiving the Player of the Week.”
