Player of the Week: Jay Carter

John Madejski Academy’s Jay Carter has been named the EABL Player of the Week for Week 9 of the 2016-17 season.
Carter went 8/13 from the floor, including 6 of 8 from beyond the arc, to finish with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block as he helped JMA take down Canterbury High School 70-72 in overtime.
“It was a great game which came down to last couple of possessions,” Carter said.
“My teammates did a great job of finding me when I was open on the perimeter to knock down shots, the team stuck together throughout the game which finally resulted in a tough win.”
JMA Head Coach Pedro Garcia Rosado commented:
“Jay has been working very hard since the end of last season and we can see now some results. We do not know his ceiling and his potential yet. We very happy for him with this award and I am sure he will keep working hard to help his team to perform.”
