EABL Week 12 Round Up

In the twelfth week of the 2017-18 EABL season another six games took place, as the end of the regular season fast approaches.

Read on to find out what happened:

East Conference

In the East, Barking Abbey just about kept their undefeated record intact, defeating JMA (7-5) 69-76 on the road, behind a season high 25 points from big man Theo Hughes.

Canterbury sit in second place, having registered an 81-61 win over Oaklands College (4-7). Tunde Oyerinde had 22 points, with Jonathan Brown adding 18.

Finally, Itchen (6-5) survived a fourth quarter rally from City of London Academy (6-4) to get a crucial 73-72 win in the race for the final playoff spot. Matt Hughes had 27 points to lead Itchen, whilst Ashley Briggs had 16 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists.

West Conference

In the West, Charnwood College (7-1) remain atop of the conference, following a 82-66 win over Derby College/Noel Baker School (4-4), led by 23 points from Sesan Russell. Charnwood overcame a 26 point outing from Leighton Elliott-Sewell, as he poured in 21 in the first half.


Myerscough kept the pressure on at the top of the table, knocking down sixteen 3-pointers in an incredible offensive display to dispatch James Watt College (3-6) 99-63, and tie Charnwood’s record at 7-1. Callan Low, who hit five of his six 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, scored a game-high 27 points.


Finally, SGS College (4-6) prevailed with an 83-60 win over Allerton City of Leeds (0-7). The Bristol side were led by Ebuka Ekwegh’s 27
