Player of the Week: Milo Gordon

Milo Gordon has earned EABL Player of the Week honours for Canterbury High School after their 91-71 victory over Alec Reed Academy.

The 6’5″ wing posted a stat-line of 18 points (shooting 9-15 from the field), nine rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks in an all-round performance to help his squad to victory.

Gordon said, “We knew Alec Reed would be a tough game and that we had to play in our style to win and match the intensity they play with. I feel like I led the team with my energy and we were able to do this.

“We moved and shared the ball well which allowed me to find gaps in their offence to score and also we collectively shoot well which helped my assist count.”

Canterbury Coach Adam Davies added, “It was a great team performance on Wednesday with multiple guys scoring in double figures, but Milo led the team at both ends of the court. His energy on defence and relentless rebounding was contagious to his teammates. On offence Milo made sure to share the ball but also finished well when opportunities came his way.”

Coach Davies continued, “I’m really happy for Milo, he had a little bit of a slow start to the season with his new leadership role and pressure of performing well every day, hopefully this will kick start a great rest of the season.”
