Player of the Week: Ben Winter

Ben Winter has received EABL Player of the Week after exploding for 32 points to lead Copleston High School to a clutch 79-81 road win in Week 11 against Alec Reed Academy.

The Copleston captain shot 9-20 from the floor and 11-14 from the foul line to pace his squad, while adding three rebounds, seven assists and three steals.

Winter, 6’3″ senior guard, said, “This was a good game for me personally, but getting the win was most important. Our team dug deep at the end of the game – having learnt from some tough close loses recently.”

Copleston Coach Nick Drane added, “Ben has had a rough start to the season. He came in nursing an injury, then had another set back that meant he was out for a month. It has taken some time to find his rhythm, but he has been getting better each week. This was the best game he has had for me in two seasons; he is now back and better than ever. I am really proud of the character he has shown and the leadership that he brings to our team.”
