Player of the Week: Milo Gordon

Milo Gordon has picked up his second EABL Player of the Week award of the season, after previously receiving the award back in Week 8, as the Canterbury High School swingman poured in a career-high 36 points against SEEVIC College in Week 12 action.

In his squad’s final action before the Christmas break, Gordon was highly efficient en route to his career-high scoring numbers, shooting 17-20 from the field, while also going two-for-two from behind the arc. Rounding out an impressive performance, the Canterbury swingman also added seven rebounds, two assists, five steals and a block in an all-round effort.

Gordon commented, “I felt like the seevic game was the result of a lot of work that I put in throughout the offseason both with my coaches and in my own time and although I had a slow start to the season I feel like I have figured out the best way for me to be most effective and help my team win games as we fight for a playoff spot in the second half of the season.

Canterbury Coach Adam Davies added, “Really happy for Milo, he deserves a performance like this one. After an average start to the season with changing roles in the team and taking on more responsibility her has found the right balance of being a leader but also making sure he performs his best. He came out on fire in the first period scoring in multiple ways showing his versatility. He then got his teammates involved sharing the ball along with scoring in the remaining three quarters.
