James Watt’s Wakeem Richardson exploded for an impressive 33 points in his side’s 108-75 win over Sheffield College in Week 16, securing EABL Player of the Week honours. After a tough 2-14 shooting performance last time out against Charnwood,  the 17-year-old was on fire as he went 14-21 from the floor, adding 11 rebounds for the double-double.

“Against Sheffield I tried to bounce back after a poor performance and loss at Charnwood and to receive the player of the week award this week, I am honoured,” said Richardson. “My teammates and I have worked hard every day since the start of the season with our coaches to put ourselves in a position for a playoff spot and win awards like this.”

James Watt Head Coach Steven Hansell said:  “I am extremely happy for Wakeem, this award is a testament to the work he puts into his game everyday. What ever he does he does with full commitment, be it basketball or course work. We are very pleased with Wakeem, he is a delight to work with and fully deserves this award.”
