Player of the Week: Jacob Morgan

Copleston High School’s Jacob Morgan receives the Week 20 EABL Player of the Week award after exploding for 31 points against Alec Reed Academy, to go along with 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals (+32 efficiency). The 6’0 combo guard hit 4 three’s in the third quarter on his way to a huge 18 points in the period, to give his Suffolk side the edge in a 97-91 victory and rounding off their EABL season in style. Despite missing out on the EABL ‘Elite 8’ Playoffs, the win solidifies their 5th place finish in the Southern Conference as they finish with a 10-8 record.

The Copleston guard commented on his performance saying, “I’m really pleased with my performance as it feels like all the hard work I’ve put It has paid off. It’s been a big step up from last season, but my confidence has grown as the year has gone on, and my teammates have really helped put me in a position succeed. This game was no different and I’m pleased we could end this season on a well deserved team victory.”

Head Coach Nick Drane added, “This is a fantastic achievement for Jacob. It’s a reflection on how hard he has worked all year – to go from looking out of his depth at this level at the start of the season to winning National Player of the Week is some achievement. He deserves all the credit in the world for this!”
