EABL Player of Week 1 – Will Raife

Canterbury’s Will Raife has been selected as the first Player of the Week of the EABL season after the young scorer helped his side overcome CoLA 88-69.

Raife was effective both inside and out as he drove the lane with purpose whilst also taking aim from deep to hit four triples in the contest. Eventually finishing with 28 points on a 9-17 shooting performance, the talented guard added six rebounds, two assists and two blocks to his stat line for an overall efficiency rating of 28.

Speaking about the win over CoLA, Raife said: “The game started out tough as we got off to a slow start. However, once we started to get out and run in transition we managed to spread the floor and find our shooters. Our bench gave us great energy, which helped us get the important stops we needed to see out the game.”

Canterbury finished 4th in the Southern Conference a year ago and will hoping to at least match that achievement this season to book another trip to the playoffs.
