EABL Player of Week 9 – Blake Bowman

After impressing on a number of occasions, Derby Trailblazers’ Blake Bowman has finally secured an EABL Player of the Week award!

Bowman currently leads the EABL with 29.5ppg and an efficiency rating of 28, and his latest quality outing came last week on the road in Manchester as Derby beat the Magic 92-85.

Bowman finished with 41 points, adding six rebounds, six assists and a steal for good measure to cap a 41 efficiency performance.

“It was a great team win and I’m pleased I could play my part. It’s always hard to win against Manchester,” said Bowman.

“We really kept going when we were on the back foot near the end so to grind out the away win is huge. I’m excited to see what the rest of the season brings.”

Trailblazers head coach Matt Shaw added: ““We had a lot of strong individual performers against Magic, Blake was certainly one of those at the top of his game. When he’s in that frame of mind, he’s tough to stop.

“I’m pleased for Blake, he’s worked very hard in the off season, expanding the range on his jump shot, getting stronger and really dedicating himself to improve his all round game.

“I think one of Blake’s biggest assets is his competitiveness, he hates to lose at anything, he brings it every day at practice whether he’s up against one of our American’s or a first year academy guy – I love that mentality.”
