Game Day Recap – Week 10

We’ve got our usual recap of all the day’s EABL action, with seven match ups filling the week 10 schedule.

In the game of the day, Barking won the battle of the undefeated teams as they topped John Madejski Academy 73-59. JMA were down by as many as 16 points in the 3rd before fighting back to get within 5 midway through the 4th. That was as good as it’d get for the visitors though, eventually falling away to their first loss of the season.

Veron Eze had 17 points for Barking, Asher Ndah closed on 12 for the Rockets as both sides lost players through injury. JMA’s Sam Grant went down with a knee injury and Tom Sowoolu left the game with an ankle issue for BA.

Elsewhere in the Southern Conference, City of London Academy kept their current winning streak alive as they beat BHASVIC 95-76. Kavell Hawes continued his good form for the visitors with 22 points as Josh Last dropped a game high 25 points for BHASVIC.

Ethan Price continues to make up for lost time after injury derailed his start to the season. In his 3rd game back for Copleston, the talented forward scored 29 points to go with 12 rebounds as Coach Drane’s side beat Itchen 83-75.

Oaklands secured their first win of the season, defeating USP College 84-69. The road win was inspired by 19 points from Finley D’Avilar, with Toby Gastaldi-Davies adding 16 more for the Wolves. Adedemilola Adeyeye top scored for USP with 21.

In the Northern Conference, Manchester used a stout defensive performance to win a low scoring contest against Sheffield College, 59-42. Reyad West was the only Sheffield scorer to make it to double digits with 10, as Josh Grant netted a team high 12 for the Magic.

Derby Trailblazers Academy grabbed a key victory with playoff implications, defeating James Watt College 87-82. Current EABL Player of the Week Blake Bowman had 22 points, but Dejnek Vel Denek top scored for the hosts with 24.

Finally, Charnwood inflicted a 2nd heavy defeat on Newcastle in as many weeks, crushing the Eagles 132-46. Blaize Sagna was the pick of the Riders’ players with 32 points. Emeka Okoli had 16 for Newcastle.
