Game Day Recap – Week 8

After a lean few weeks it’s been a busy day in the EABL with a number of big results across the Northern and Southern Conferences.

Myerscough maintained their spotless record in 2019/20 with a comfortable 103-69 win over SGS College. Leading by 11 at the half, the Northern Conference leaders took the 3rd quarter 36-8 to provide a one sided final score.

Charnwood secured a tight 70-64 road win against James Watt College in their bid to keep pace at the top of the standings. The win takes the Riders to 3-1 on the year as JWC drop back to 2-2.

Manchester Magic Academy made sure their trip to the North East was worthwhile as they beat Newcastle Eagles Academy 96-34, moving their record to .500 at 2-2.

In the day’s big game in the Southern Conference, Canterbury’s perfect start to the season came to an end at the hands of Barking Abbey as the hosts secured a comfortable 84-56 win. Barking guard Titus Wawari led all scorers with 14 points as Veron Eze and Sam Alajiki both added 10. Chester Morrell top scored for Canterbury with 11.

The return of highly ranked Deng Camp selection Ethan Price helped propel Copleston to an 84-66 win over Oaklands College. The talented centre had a 23 point, 12 rebound double-double as Nick Powdrell top scored for Oaklands with 17.

The wait for Itchen’s first win of the season goes on as they fell to a 77-68 defeat at the hands of City of London Academy. Hardian Basilio top scored for the hosts with 15 as CoLA enjoyed a game high 24 points from Kavell Hawes.

John Madejski Academy joined Barking as the only undefeated sides in the Southern Conference as they beat USP College 94-58, moving to 5-0 in the process. The Rockets were led by 15 points from Victor¬†Gadea, Joe Dunbar’s 18 points were a highlight for USP.
