Week 11 Preview – Northern Conference

Three games make up week 11 in the Northern Conference, as table toppers Myerscough College host fifth-placed Manchester Magic. Here’s the latest preview.

James Watt College (3-3) v The Sheffield College (1-5)

Both these sides will be looking to bounce back following defeats in week 10, with the hosts suffering a close 87-82 loss to Derby Trailblazers, while Sheffield were defeated 59-42 by Manchester Magic.

Josh Ijeh is one to look out for in this fixture for James Watt College, with an efficiency rating of 23, sitting fifth in the 2019-20 EABL Efficiency Leaders.

In last week’s defeat, 6’5” forward Reyad West was the only Sheffield scorer to make it to double digits with 10 points.

Six points separate the sides in the table, as James Watt College sit fourth and Sheffield three places below at seventh.

Myerscough College (6-0) v Manchester Magic (3-3)

Myerscough College remain the only unbeaten side in the Northern Conference with a perfect record of 6-0, their last fixture resulting in an impressive 103-69 triumph over South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.

Former Player of the Week Amaria Williams has the best efficiency rating within his Myerscough College at 23.4, scoring an average 14.8 points per game.

Manchester Magic sit fifth in the table with the recent win over Sheffield, which saw Josh Grant net a team high 12.

Derby Trailblazers (4-1) v Newcastle Eagles (0-6)

Newcastle Eagles continue to search for their first victory of the season as they travel to third-placed Derby Trailblazers.

Derby recently defeated James Watt College 87-82, with former EABL Player of the Week Blake Bowman scoring 22 points.

Eagles were recently on the wrong end of a big scoreline, with Charnwood College defeating the side 120-38. Emeka Okoli scored 16 for Newcastle.
