Game Day Recap – Week 14

The final game week of 2019 saw five fixtures and a whole host of action. We take a look at all the results in the last game day recap of the year.

Two games made up the Northern Conference schedule, highlighted by Charnwood’s 102-71 win over The Sheffield College thanks in part to 24 points from Greg Durant. The victory continues to set up a showdown with leaders Myerscough in the New Year that will no doubt be a source of interest for all EABL fans.

Newcastle finished the first half of the season winless as they came up short against SGS College 102-75. The victory takes SGS to 3-7 on the year and just two wins off 4th spot, whilst Newcastle slip to 0-10.

In the Southern Conference, Itchen did their playoff hopes no harm at all as they recorded an 89-80 win over Canterbury. Taiga Forster had a great game for Itchen to finish with a game high 28 points, Chester Morrell had 25 for Canterbury.

There was a cracker in London as CoLA came up just short against high flying John Madejski Academy, with the Rockets eventually coming out on top 71-69. David Chive top scored for JMA, he scored a useful 19 points as Ross Stepney added 18 more.

Copleston ended the year on a high as they beat BHASVIC 97-71. Ethan Price was once again in top form, scoring an impressive 38 points for Copleston, with Josh Last leading the way for the hosts on 31.

Finally, Barking’s trip to USP College was a late scratch as the hosts ultimately forfeited the game 20-0.

We’ll have a full report on all these games tomorrow afternoon.
