Game Day Recap – Week 17

Adding to Charnwood’s win over Derby on Monday, a further seven EABL games have now taken place in week 17 with plenty of opportunity for sides to make a move in both the Northern and Southern Conference standings.

Top dogs in the North Myerscough remained unbeaten thanks to a 94-82 road win against SGS College. Lewis McGlasson led all scorers with 24 points, as Great Osobor chipped in another 19 for the visitors. Finlay Woodward had 22 for SGS.

Charnwood managed to make it two wins out of two for the week as they defeated James Watt College 95-71. The results puts some daylight between the Riders and 3rd place Derby, though the Trailblazers do have a game in hand.

Newcastle remained winless on the year as they fell on the road to Manchester 95-65. The win helps Manchester’s quest to secure a post season spot, whilst Newcastle fall to 0-11.

In the South, leaders Barking remained perfect for yet another week as they beat Canterbury 81-59. Louis Norton and Veron Eze both had 14 for BA as Chester Morrell’s 19 points for Canterbury wouldn’t be enough to tip this one in the host’s favour.

27 points from Jacob Morgan helped Copleston past Oaklands 72-58. Morgan was assisted by 20 points from Ethan Price, as Jeremy Levin led the way for Oaklands with 12.

Itchen continued their late season playoff push with a valuable 68-64 win over fellow hopefuls City of London Academy. Steve Nwagwu was in top form for Coach Guymon’s side, leading all scorers with 29 points. Kavell Hawes had a team high 20 for CoLA.

Finally, John Madejski Academy made light work of bottom side USP College, with a 101-64 final score. Ross Stepney had 26 for the Rockets, supported by 24 from Kivuvu Live. Joe Dunbar top scored for USP on 24.

We’ll have a full recap on all these games tomorrow afternoon.
