2021/22 EABL playoff structure confirmed

The playoff structure for the 2021/22 EABL season has been confirmed.

The format of the post-season has been retained from 2019/20, with eight teams once again making it through to the playoffs.

Played on 9 March 2022, the top four teams from the Northern and Southern conferences will progress, with a 1v4, 2v3 set up, as follows:

1) Northern Conference winner v Southern Conference 4th place
2) Southern Conference winner v Northern Conference 4th place
3) Northern Conference runner up v Southern Conference 3rd place
4) Southern Conference runner up v Northern Conference 3rd place

Teams will then progress to the final fours, played on the 16 March 2022, with the winner of game one playing the winner of game four, and the winner of game two playing the winner of game three.

In both cases, the highest seeded team will host the final four fixture.

The EABL playoff final is scheduled for Wednesday 23 March 2022 at the University of Essex Sport Arena.

Due to the COVID pandemic, there was no EABL season in 2020/21 and the previous post-season was cut short before the 2019/20 playoff final, leaving Myerscough and Barking Abbey to be crowned as the league’s most recent co-champions.
