EABL Player of the Week – 20 October 2021

Following some initial stats hiccups, the EABL is now able to crown the first Player of the Week of the new season!

After helping his side to a winning start in their season opener, the EABL Player of the Week is James Watt’s Jonathan Ntumba!

Ntumba was on fire in week 3, pushing the Midlands outfit to a 87-54 win on the road in Newcastle.

Scoring an impressive 31 points on 14/22 shooting, the talented forward also added five rebound, two assists and three steals for a final efficiency rating of 26.

Speaking about the award, Ntumba said: “It is an honour to be named Player of the Week and I have been working to adjust from the ABL.

“The EABL Summer Showcase has shown me what talented players and teams there are so I am trying to improve each and everyday, thanks to the BMet James Watt programme and my head coach. I am very grateful.”

Head coach Steven Hansell added: “Jonathan is a player with bags of potential. He made the switch from ABL to the EABL last year and it took him some time to adjust to the level of play and training.

“He’s worked hard to improve as a player since he arrived and last week he was able to show exactly how hard he has been working. He has now set his standard, we expect more of the same throughout the season.”
