EABL Recap – 24 November

Week 7 of the EABL is complete, with five games taking place across the league.

Here’s a recap of all the action – each score is clickable to access the top scorers/boxscore where available.

The Sheffield College 77-68 Derby College Trailblazers

Sheffield College bounced back from their first L of the season last week to dismantle Derby on Wednesday.

Jude Lambert and Charles Okafor led the scoring for the hosts with 18 and 17 points respectively as Sheffield went 4-1 at the top of the Northern Conference.

Matthew Sweeney led things for the visitors with 16 points of his own.

Charnwood College Riders 95-56 SGS College

Charnwood eased to a huge home win over SGS to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Kanu Gudza posted 17 points and there were a further 15 from teammate Victor Ndoukou as they went 3-0 for the season.

SGS’s star was wing Jason Sooden who put up a valiant effort with 32 points.

Copleston High School 46 – 73 John Madejski Academy

JMA bounced back from last week’s narrow defeat to Barking Abbey with a comfortable win on the road at Copleston.

Isaac Round fronted up for the visitors with 25 points to earn a W that leaves them second in the South.

Itchen college 88-91 Barking Abbey

A thrilling contest at Itchen ended with unbeaten Barking earning another W in Overtime.

There were impressive performances on both sides that kept the game in the balance, most notably through Itchen’s LA Casinillo and Barking’s Peter Asante, who posted 27 points apiece.

Oaklands College 83-70 The Canterbury Academy

Oaklands picked up their second win of the season while compounding Canterbury to a fourth defeat in the Southern Conference.

Eighteen points from Peter Asante helped Barking stay perfect on the season, moving to 3-0 following an 88-81 home win over JMA.
