EABL Player of the Week – 9 November 2022

After a two week break in the EABL schedule, the league is back in full flow and that meant more standout performances in week five.

With seven games on the schedule, that made picking a Player of the Week difficult, but after much consideration, just one name has been singled out.

After a standout performance in one of the games of the week, Canterbury’s Timothy Oboh is our latest EABL Player of the Week.

Oboh played a major role in helping the Kent programme squeeze past John Madejski Academy 73-71, doing plenty of work to earn the road win.

The talented forward dropped a team-high 22 points to go with 16 rebounds (five on offence), good for a final efficiency rating 28.

That shows just how much of an impact Oboh’s performance had in a win the keeps Canterbury in the playoff places.

After winning the award, Oboh said: “It’s an honour to win the award, but it was a team effort and I’m pleased we all brought a win back to Canterbury this week against a tough JMA team.

“I hope we can build on this performance, use the confidence gained and work hard in practice to keep improving.”

Coach Adam Davies added: “I’m happy for Tim to be recognised for his performance against JMA last week, he put in a good shift.

“He has come in this season and worked hard to improve his game so he can play at this level straight away.

“Full credit to the team as well, who without their contribution in both the game and daily practice we wouldn’t be talking about him.

“I hope this only motivates Tim to keep pushing hard to develop and lead the team to more success.”
