Barking Abbey School vs Copleston High School

Barking Abbey got the defense of their back-to-back national titles off to a good start with a solid 93-58 win over Copleston High School on Wednesday afternoon.

Barking Abbey won all four quarters on their way to victory, stretching their lead in an impressive 31-13 third quarter.  Copleston played their part in a challenging game with the scoreboard not representing how competitive the teams were throughout.

Barking Abbey coach Lloyd Gardner commented, “Today was a good test for us, Copleston are a team that I think will be one of the most competitive teams in the Southern Conference this year. We used our strength in depth to wear them down, especially in the third quarter, and I thought that we had some really good periods of play. The challenge for us is to make those periods longer in every game.”

Barking Abbey will hit the road next week in the EABL for a tough test against Canterbury High School whilst Copleston welcome Oaklands to Ipswich.
