Barking Abbey School vs Hackney Community College
- Updated: December 3, 2013
Barking Abbey improved to 4-1 in the EABL this season with a 77-60 win over Hackney Community College on Wednesday afternoon at Barking Abbey Leisure Centre.
Despite BA leading from start to finish, Hackney remained in striking distance until the final quarter when BA pulled away. It was Malik Griffith-Johnson who proved instrumental in the game, finishing with 13 points on 5/5 field goals, along with 3 assists and 5 steals, to lead BA’s 58% shooting effort.
“Everyone played hard in today’s game which is something you like to see as a coach,” said BA Head Coach Frank Holloway after the game. “We did some things well on both sides of the ball today, but we are far from where we want to be.
“Our progress is slow, but we are heading in the right direction.”
Calvin Nevill-Kintu, Reis Pinnock and Oisin Kerlin added 10 points each.
BA will face Copleston next week on Wednesday away from home, in a re-match of last year’s third place playoff, whilst Hackney take on Canterbury High School at home..
