Barking Abbey vs John Madejski Academy

Defending champions Barking Abbey improved to 4-0 with a 75-51 win over John Madejski Academy at BA on Wednesday afternoon.

Caleb Fuller had 22 on his season debut in the EABL, whilst Micah Savery-Richards had 9 and Ade Adebayo 7.

BA jumped out to a 22-9 lead after one, and were up 20 at the half as they cruised the rest of the way, rotating players.

“I thought today, first half especially, we were really good defensively,” BA Head Coach Lloyd Gardner commented.

“We made the pressure count for us and it’s how we opened up the lead. I think we could have done a better job executing in the half court as the game went on.

“We spoke about how our passing needed to be sharper than it was today, but overall it was a good game for us. A lot of guys played their first EABL game of the season so it was pleasing to get a win against a really good team like JMA.”

Asher Ndah had 16 points to lead JMA, Adrian Nosa Castillo had 13, and Matt Marsh 11.

JMA return home to face Itchen next week, whilst BA take on City of London Academy in South London.
