BHASVIC 49 – 76 Canterbury Academy

BHASVIC welcomed Canterbury for their second meeting of the season. The visitors took the victory in a low scoring affair, 76-49.

The visitors started the game with a really fast pace which saw them take an early lead in the game 13-6. With the home side starting out cold from the field, the visitors finished with a 9-3 run, ending the first quarter 22-9.

The second quarter was pretty much the same as BHASVIC had some really good looks however their cold streak continued. The visitors however kept the pace and pressure up as they lead at the half 36-15.

Hoping the second half would be different, BHASVIC started strongly coming out of halftime but the visitors were able to keep up with them as both teams scored 19-19 in the third. The fourth was pretty much the same, as BHASVIC tried to keep it close only losing the second half by 6 points but the damage has already been done as Canterbury ran away to victory.

After the game, BHASVIC Coach James Quinto said: “Today’s game was a much better performance compared to our first meeting. We didn’t shoot the ball particularly well but I was pleased with how we competed and how much tougher we were as a group.

“A lot of positives to take especially on the defensive side of the floor which we can take moving forward but we really have to focus on the little things moving forward.”

The visitors top scorers were Chester Morrell who had 24 points and Robbie Graham with 13 points. Meanwhile BHASVIC were led by their two top scorers Lewis Jee who had 15 points and Josh Last with 11 points.

Next week, Canterbury welcome undefeated Barking Abbey and in two weeks BHASVIC host JMA.
