BHASVIC 81 – 97 John Madejski Academy

BHASVIC welcomed Reading for their second meeting of the season. The visitors took the victory in the end 97-81.

The visitors started the game shooting well from the field which saw them take the lead at the end of the first quarter 35-19. In the second quarter the home side clawed their way back to cut the lead at halftime by 8 points.

In the third, it was another close encounter as BHASVIC continued to fight against a very well organised JMA side. The score at the end of the third was 68-61. In the last quarter BHASVIC and JMA traded baskets but the visitors took advantage of silly mistakes and poor decision making from BHASVIC which allowed them to run away with the game.

After the game, BHASVIC Coach James Quinto said “Today’s game was one of our better team performances. We moved the ball well, took good shots and ran on the break however the other side of the floor hurt us. We didn’t rebound well but we will look back on the tape and look at the areas where we can improve.”

The visitors top scorers were Latrell Maitland who had 24 points and Ross Stepney with 20points. Meanwhile BHASVIC were led by their two top scorers Josh Last who had 27 points and Lewis Jee with 19 points.

Next week, JMA hosts Oaklands and BHASVIC travels to COLA.
