BHASVIC vs City of London Academy

On a gloomy Wednesday afternoon down south, CoLA got an 85-70 win over a BHASVIC team that’s still searching for a win.

BHASVIC started the game as the aggressors on the defensive end as they raced out to a 14-9 lead, before COLA went on a 10-3 run which saw them take the lead at the end of the first quarter 19-17.

Much was the same in the second quarter as BHASVIC applied more pressure on COLA which saw them take the lead 34-27 before going into halftime up 38-34.

Coming out of the break both teams came out with the same energy with the score ending 55-52 at the end of the third in CoLA’s favour.

It was all to play for going in to the final quarter, but a 15-4 run saw COLA take the game away from BHASVIC’s hands as the game finished 85-70 in favour of COLA.

“We definitely felt like we gave the game away today,” BHASVIC Head Coach James Quinto said. “We were controlling our destiny for the majority of the game however at times we were lacking mental focus which proved to be the difference in the end.

“Credit to my players, I gave them a game plan before the game to execute and they did that for the majority of the game. It’s crucial for us to improve on this if we are to get a win in these last 3 remaining games.”

He also added: “We have a big game next week as we host Copleston for our last home game of the season, so we’re going to make sure we are ready to try and get a win.”

For CoLA, Louis Norton had 24 points to lead all scorers, Patrick Lanipekun had 15 points and Richmond Arriyo had 14 points.

BHASVIC had four players in double figures and were led by Andras Huber with 15 points, Enoch Quarcoo and Callum Collins both had 12, and Naz Mcloughlin chipped in with 11 points.

Next week, COLA travels down south again to play Itchen and BHASVIC gets a visit from Copleston in their last home game of the season.
