BHASVIC vs Copleston High School

Copleston travelled down south to face a BHASVIC side in search of their first league win, which they achieved as the home team came out slow allowing the visitors to route the game 104-47.

BHASVIC Coach, James Quinto hoped the last few matches of solid performances would carry over to today’s game, as BHASVIC were at home where they have been solid. Quinto commented, “I thought we came out with no energy and really flat in the first three minutes, I then called a timeout which would normally wake us up but on this occasion, it took us three, nearly four quarters to wake up.” He also added, “It’s a game where we actually executed our sets well but just couldn’t buy a bucket but on the defensive end we were caught sleeping too many times on the break. Now, we have to move forward from this game, and take as much positives as we can especially as we are deep in the latter half of the season.”

The game started with BHASVIC scoring the opening basket however, a 10-0 run forced BHASVIC coach James Quinto to use an early timeout but it didn’t stop Copleston’ s run which BHASVIC couldn’t stop as the visitors led 57-12. In the third quarter, BHASVIC stayed resilient and kept running their sets as they started to knock some shots down but Copleston also kept their foot on the gas. The fourth was a much better showing from BHASVIC as they ended the quarter only being down by five 26-21.

First year guard Lewis Jee led BHASVIC as Matt Saunders had a strong showing with 10 points. Meanwhile, Copleston’ s big man Ethan Price had 27 points, while Ben Winter had 21 and Jacob Morgan had 16.

Next week BHASVIC travels to Hertfordshire to face Oaklands in search of their first win, while Copleston gets a visit from Seevic who are also searching for their first win of the season.
