BHASVIC vs Copleston Sixth Form

Copleston Sixth Form finished their EABL season on a high note with a 88-59 road win over BHASVIC.

Copleston had a massive 44 points and 19 rebounds from Jonny Hall, who has been an unstoppable force this season in the EABL, Ben Winter added 18, with Blake Read having 12, while BHASVIC were led by Enoch Quarcoo’s 20 points and 13 rebounds.

A strong start from the well-drilled Copleston side saw them race out to a 26-17 first quarter lead thanks to strong inside play from their dominant 7-footer Jonny Hall and some outside scoring from lead guard Ben Winter.

Some aggressive play from BHASVIC co-captain Enoch Quarcoo kept the home side within reach, however in the second quarter Copleston continued to exert their dominance and went into half-time leading 52-30.

In the second half the visitors kept the pressure on, with a strong press that forced some early BHASVIC turnovers and led to easy scores for the Copleston guards. It was much the same in the final quarter, as Copleston won the second half and the game 88-59.

“I felt like we didn’t come out with the energy and focus that we needed to win the game,” said BHASVIC Coach Tom Ward.

“Copleston had a strong game plan and our inability to contain Jonny, as well as sloppy execution trying to break the press led to our downfall.”

He also added, “We have one more chance this season to snatch a victory and these guys will definitely be ready to bounce back against Oaklands next week.”

Next week BHASVIC travel to Oaklands for their final game of the season, while Copleston’s season ended today.
