BHASVIC 99 – 68 USP College

BHASVIC welcomed USP for their second meeting of the season. The home side took a comfortable win 99-68 to take their second win of the campaign.

The visitors started the game strongly as they took the lead after the first quarter 23-21. At the start of the second, the home side came out with more intensity on the defensive side as they won the quarter 25-13 to lead by 10 points at half-time.

The second half was pretty much the same as the home side piled even more pressure on the defensive end. The visitors however would carry on their hot shooting as they kept knocking down open three pointers to keep within distance but in the end BHASVIC were too much to handle on both ends of the floor.

After the game, BHASVIC Coach James Quinto said: “Credit to USP for giving us a tough game as they scored a team season high 15 three pointers. They didn’t make it easy for us but we battled through it and made sure that we kept the pressure on the defensive end.

“I’m so happy for the boys, they thoroughly deserve this win but we all know that there is more to come from this group especially in the second half of the season.

“We will keep working hard behind the scenes and hopefully carry this momentum going forward.”

USP’s top scorers were Israel Bello who had 20 points and Jai Lawman with 17 points. Meanwhile BHASVIC had five players in double digits but were led by their captain Josh Last who had 24 points while Finn Sweeting-Young had 19 points off the bench.

Next week, BHASVIC welcome Copleston while USP welcome undefeated Barking Abbey.
