Charnwood College vs SGS College

Charnwood College remained unbeaten as they defeated SGS College with a 85-56 home win. SGS came out of the gates with a very aggressive start which got the best out of the home side, as Charnwood overcame the early pressure to lead by 17 at the end of the first quarter.

A variation of defences and line-ups for the Riders allowed them to get consistent stops throughout the second quarter which allowed for some easy transition points. Both Greg Wild and Josh Lloyd followed on from strong performances in the NBL at the weekend with solid shooting efforts.

Coach Will Maynard commented, “We did a good job throughout the second half staying focused and locked-in. With Niall [Harris] and Hosana [Kitenge] both not playing, I was impressed with the depth of our squad. It allowed other people to step up and prove themselves, as 11 of our 12 players scored the ball, which is a credit to all the guys who really enjoy playing for each other.”

Charnwood next see the floor on 28 November when they host Manchester Magic Academy, while SGS will travel to The Sheffield College.
