City of London Academy vs Barking Abbey
- Updated: February 21, 2017
CoLA hosted Barking Abbey on Wednesday who played this top of the table clash with a high intensity level on the defensive end. The visitors held the hosts to 43 points whilst scoring 73 of their own to pull out the win.
What began as a tight contest early on in the first quarter turned into one way traffic, with Barking extending the lead every period and holding CoLA to low scoring quarters throughout the game.
Led by top scorer Amin Adamu (27 points), the Eastern Conference leaders kept their winning streak alive and showed their strength in depth in the 30 point victory.
“All credit to Barking, today our boys did not deliver and Barking pounced on us,” said CoLA Head Coach Sterling Muschet.
“We didn’t match Barking’s level of intensity on the defensive end, especially the glass. They also showed a far higher level of execution offensively throughout the game whilst capitalising on every mistake we made. We’ll learn from it and regroup.”
Next week both teams are on the road with CoLA taking the trip down to Brighton to face BHASVIC and Barking will play Canterbury.
