Coach Williams went deep into the rotation early with David Sterie and Tobi Lawal connecting on a lob on the fast break before Sterie again hit a triple to close out the quarter 23-13.

Another three made point shot from the home side to start the second period splashed before the visitors again started attacking the basket, getting to the free throw line a total of 19 times for the first half. Tyrese Garrod guided the team in the beginning of the 4th with some unselfish play, trying to get everyone involved and capping his scoring with a layup to finish with 17 points.

CoLA’s coach Williams praised his team after the game: “It’s always difficult playing a team searching for their first win and credit to USP for battling until the end. I’m glad we managed to put in a good defensive performance even with 4 starters sitting out.”

Jude Lambert led all scorers with 21 points for the hosts, as Tyrese Garrod added 17 and David Andre-Sterie had 7. For USP, Joe Dunbar was the standout with 19 points as Adedemilola Adeyeye scored 9 and Ellias Antoine finished on 6.
