Copleston High School 103 v 73 BHASVIC

Copleston rediscovered the winning touch as they enjoyed a 103 – 73 win over BHASVIC yesterday, The Ipswich based team led from start to finish, enabling Coach Drane to again use all twelve players while the team continue to find their form in the absence of EABL South MVP Ethan Price.

Copleston jumped out to an early 14-4 lead, and the advantage would stay in double figures for the remainder of the game. BHASVIC played with a never say die attitude and in guard Lewis Jee they have a very real scoring threat that is able to keep their offence ticking over at the EABL level.

However, the dynamic trio of Copleston guards, Ben Winter, Moyo Adekeye and Jacob Morgan combined for 61 points as the Suffolk side took control of the game early and didn’t look like they would relinquish their advantage. Copleston round up winning by thirty points for the second time in three games.

“Offensively I thought we were very good in spells, but our defence again left a lot of be desired. We have a lot of work to do in that department,” said Ipswich Coach Nick Drane.

Assistant Coach Adam Robinson added “We shot the ball really well which is great, and the two Harry’s (Syrett and Gent) held the fort well in the middle. Both of those guys are really tall, but not as tall as Ethan Price”.

Copleston were led by Jacob Morgan’s 22 points while Adekeye helped himself to a triple double of 20 points, 18 assists and 11 rebounds to go with five steals on his IBA debut. BHASVIC were led by Lewis Jee’s 18.

Copleston are off on their travels to CoLA next week while BHASVIC face current Conference leaders Barking Abbey at home.
