Copleston High School vs City of London Academy

Copleston pulled off a remarkable fourth quarter comeback to win against City of London Academy and move to 9-7 in the EABL South Conference.

CoLA were in control from the opening tip, not losing a quarter until the games finale, but when it mattered, Copleston were able to make key plays at both ends of the floor, turning around a twelve point deficit into a four point win.

For CoLA, it was Patrick Lanipekun who led from the front and was the games high man with twenty-one point, supported by 11 from Taiga Forster and 10 from Louie Norton. Copleston got another solid performance from Ethan Price who dominated at both ends with 16 points and thirteen rebounds, while Ben Winter top scored with nineteen. Elsewhere, Veron Eze added another eighteen to his season tally while the emerging Jacob Morgan collected sixteen of his own, as Copleston pulled off the come-from-behind 82-78 win.

It’s going to take some freak results for us to make the playoffs so I challenged the guys to play for each other as opposed to league standings and I thought they did that – when we are playing like we did in the fourth quarter, we are a very good team at this level” said Copleston Head Coach Nick Drane.

Assistant Coach Adam Robinson added “The players all played their part today, they were great. Ethan is just so tall”.

Copleston are next in action the week after half term when they travel to Itchen College while CoLA host Oaklands.
