Copleston Sixth Form vs BHASVIC

Copleston won a second game in their last three in EABL action and four in their last five in all competitions as they made short work of BHASVIC with an 80-42 win at Copleston on Tuesday.

Copleston led from start to finish behind the dominant inside play of Jonny Hall and a well rounded contribution from the rest of the team.

Hall would finish the game with an impressive 32 points and 22 rebounds and the Suffolk side moved closer to the middle of the table of the Eastern Conference on the EABL, while BHASVIC continue to search for their first win of the season.

The Suffolk side won each quarter on their way to a 80-43 victory. Supporting Hall’s monster performance was another solid outing from Ben Winter, the first year guard collected 22 points while Thomas Payne had his best game of the season, connecting on three consecutive three-pointers on his way to 11 points. For BHASVIC, they were led by Naseem McLoughlin with 11, helped by 9 from Richard Hoyce.

“I thought we did a great job of bouncing back after last weeks poor performance,” said Copleston Head Coach Nick Drane. O

“Our boys play every game with a chip on their shoulder, and that has given us an edge this season – we do a great job of making things hard for our opponents and when we get guys stepping up like we did today, we are a good team at this level.”

Copleston travel to JMA for their final game of 2017 next week, knowing that any chance of reaching the play-offs is going to require some big wins on the road as the second half of the season kicks in. BHASVIC are away again, this time to Itchen College.
