Copleston Sixth Form vs Oaklands College
- Updated: February 28, 2017
Copleston held off a late Oaklands comeback to win 78-72 and stay in the race for the fourth playoff seed in the EABL Eastern Conference.
The Suffolk side looked to be coasting early, taking a twenty-one point lead into the interval but Oaklands would not lay down, and had the game within nine going into the fourth.
For Copleston the high man was Caleb Fuller, who had 26. Fuller was helped by 20 from Josh Apple and eighteen from Rory Winter. Oaklands were led by Aaron Martin’s sixteen and Kyle Dennis who had fifteen.
“We were outstanding in the first half and the total opposite in the second half,” said Copleston Head Coach Tom Sadler. “Credit to Oaklands who made life very difficult for us after half time. They also hit a lot of threes.”
Next week Copleston must beat Itchen on Tuesday on the road to secure the fourth place seed for the playoffs. They then face Barking Abbey on Wednesday, whilst Oaklands host Canterbury.
