James Watt College 44 – 80 Myerscough College

Myerscough proved why they are the best team in the league once again with a polished display to beat James Watt College 80-44.

Myerscough came out with intent and piled on the points all quarter. Their height and athleticism was too much for James Watt as they capitalised on every mistake and executed well. The left the visitors up by 15 after the 1st, a lead they’d never relinquish.

The second quarter was a continuation of the first. James Watt found it difficult to score as Myerscough’s height was able to dominate the offensive boards and created numerous second chance points. This was too much to handle for the hosts as they hadn’t adjusted to Myerscough’s strength and depth. A half time score of 46-19 all but signalled an end to the contest with 20 minutes still to play.

JWC still came out with some fight in the third, rallying behind team captain Wakeem Richardson. That allowed the hosts to go toe to toe with Myerscough in the quarter, though the deficit never really came down. Still, it was a valiant effort from the Birmingham team as they could have easily have folded after the interval.

The final quarter saw the natural order resume as Myerscough dominated, restricting their opponents to just four points as they wrapped up the game.

Top scorers for JWC were Wakeem Richardson with 20, Ian Rodriguez on 10 and Jaydon Samuels on 5. For Myerscough, Bradley Kaboza led the way with 16 points, Amari Williams had 13 and Lewis McGlasson finished on 8.
