Loreto College vs Myerscough College

On Wednesday afternoon Myerscough College travelled to Manchester to face Loreto College and came away with a 82-65 victory.
The visitors got off to a great start, going on a 12-4 run in the opening 4 minutes. Loreto regrouped and managed to edge out Myerscough 23-21 by the end of the first quarter. The away side then turned up the defensive pressure forcing Loreto into multiple mistakes with a variety of different defensive schemes. Despite this the visitors were still a point down going in to the half time break.
Myerscough took control in the second half with an MVP performance from Zion Tordoff who finished with a game high 30 points and showed the ability to score from inside and beyond the perimeter. The game was still within 6 points going into the final minutes, however, Myerscough pulled away late to take the contest 82-65
Coach Peter Paraskeva commented after the game:
“We were simply not good enough today. Our guys know that the only way to correct this is on the practice floor.”
Loreto were led by Bartosz Blachut with 13, Kaiyem Cleary 13 and Arinze Emeka-anyakwo with 11.
Myerscough were led by the aforementioned Zion Tordoff’s 30, Spas Nikolov with 19 and Konrad Kantorski with 14.
Both teams don’t play again until the 22nd February where Loreto travel to SGS and Myerscough go back home to Bournville.
