Manchester Magic Academy 95 – 65 Newcastle Eagles Academy

Wednesday afternoon saw Newcastle Eagles make the trip down to Manchester to take on the Magic at the National Performance Centre. Despite a fantastic effort from Newcastle’s Tyrese Nfon with a game high 22 points, it would be the Magic who took the contest 95-65.

Coach Paraskeva commented after the game: “Probably our worst performance of the season defensively. We struggled to contain the ball one on one and our focus on weak side positioning just wasn’t there.

“Credit to Newcastle who played hard and stayed aggressive the whole game.”

Leading the scoring for the Magic were Jason Ani 16, Josh Grant 15 and Noah Togo with 14.

Newcastle’s top scorers were Nfon 22, Sauveur Kande 15 and Joe Moore with 14.

Next week sees the Magic on the road to Derby and Newcastle get their home floor back where they host James Watt.
