Manchester Magic 60 – 72 Myerscough College

Wednesday afternoon saw Myerscough College make the trip over to Manchester to take on the Magic at the Manchester Basketball Centre. A great defensive effort from a depleted Magic team wouldn’t be enough to prevent the visitors remaining unbeaten in the EABL with a score of 72-60.

Myerscough raced out to an 11 point lead by the end of the first quarter (25-14) but the home side would finally settle and managed to keep the rest of the game close, bringing the margin to only six points by the start of the fourth. Despite the Magic keeping within single digits for much of the fourth quarter, an onslaught from behind the arc in the closing minutes by Myerscough would seal a 12 point victory (72-60).

Coach Paraskeva commented after the game: “Considering our poor performance defensively last week the response this week has been great. Such a shame we got off to such a poor start, as the rest of the game was very competitive.”

Leading the scoring for the Magic were Jason Ani with 16 and Luke Gordos with 12 points

Myerscough were led by Amari Williams with a game high 18 and Franklin Agu with 10 points.
