Myerscough College vs Bournville College

In the final game of the regular season Bournville College escaped with a 74 – 72 victory over Myerscough to finish 3rd in the West.

With Myerscough safely securing a second seed finish, Bournville had it all to play for in a rare Thursday afternoon fixture as they hunted a higher seeding heading into the playoffs.

With Myerscough resting key players, Bournville used a shortened second half rotation to grab a 2 point victory with David Stevic hitting the go ahead bucket in the last minute, only for Myerscough to see a 3 point attempt fall short as time ran out.

“Bournville did a good job getting over the line, they needed the victory and worked hard for it,” commented Myerscough Head Coach Neal Hopkins after the game.

“It was a good opportunity for us to get some minutes through different players, hopefully they can carry this experience into the playoffs.”

Ayo Nuwe finished with a game high 20 points for Myerscough, whilst Alex Roberts and Spas Nikolov grabbed 15 and 12 respectively. Meris Mazalovic had 16 for the visitors, he was joined by 15 from Xavier McIntosh who had 15, David Stevic finished with 14.

Myerscough will now COLA whilst Bournville face a road trip to Itchen in the first round of the playoffs.
