Myerscough College vs City of Leeds Basketball Academy

The penultimate game of the year for Allerton City Of Leeds Basketball Academy would see them fall 64-84 at the hands of Myerscough College on Thursday afternoon.

Edoardo Del Cadia led Myerscough with 19 points, Callan Low had 18 and Alex Roberts 15.

Allerton were led by 18 from Harry Resendez and 14 from George Halliday.

Allerton Head Coach Matt Newby commented: “Last week we took a really heavy loss against the Myerscough unit I thought we showed really resilience and heart.”

The opening quarter would see a great start from City of Leeds, as they would set the early pace behind strong guard play from Resendez and Halliday. The interior mismatch would be the go to for Myerscough as Del Cadia would see lots of touches. The quarter split would be 15-11.

In the second quarter, Myerscough would find their feet rallying to an impressive 39 point quarter with Allerton still getting output with 19 points.

At halftime the 50 points to 34 split was a vast improvement for Allerton, who had grossly underperformed the previous week up in the North West in the reverse of the fixture.

The third quarter would finish a stalemate with 15 points from both teams. In the fourth, the Leeds side would push to close the gap and although they would take advantage of some scrappy play Myerscough kept their foot on the gas.
