Myerscough College 85 vs 46 James Watt College

Joseph Bankole hit six 3-pointers scoring a game-high 21 points and Myerscough beat James Watt College 85-46 to stay unbeaten in the EABL.

Sam Chigbo added 16 points in a game where Myerscough (5-0) outscored James Watt’s bench 54-10.

“We needed guys who were ready to match [James Watt’s] level of intensity and I knew there would be hunger off the bench,” said Myerscough head coach Neal Hopkins. “That was really important to put the confidence back in our game.”

Myerscough, which trailed by eight in the first quarter, made a complete turnaround and used a 29-4 burst — sparked by the bench — to take a commanding 45-25 lead into halftime. Bankole would hit his sixth 3-pointer giving Sco its largest lead of 41 points at 79-38.

“My teammates kept me hot,” said Myersough guard Bankole. “I’ve really been working on my shot and today it paid off.”

Ian Rodriguez had 15 points and Josh Ijeh, last week’s Player of the Week, finished with just nine for James Watt (2-1).

Myerscough’s home stand continues next week against SGS College. James Watt, meanwhile, welcomes Charnwood College.
