Myerscough College vs Manchester Magic Academy

On Wednesday afternoon, Myerscough College made the trip to Manchester for the first EABL fixture after the break. Myerscough took the contest 64-51 by the final whistle which proved to be a game plagued with poor quality and missed opportunities.

The first quarter was close throughout before the visitors exploded with a 10-1 run to end the period. The run put Myerscough up 21-10 going into the second quarter and this would be the run that ultimately decided the game. The rest of the game was a close affair with the margin never stretching beyond 13 points. In the end Myerscough took a comfortable 64-51 victory to open up 2019.

Magic Coach Peter Paraskeva commented after the game ‘We knew the game wouldn’t be the prettiest coming off the break and it certainly wasn’t but I am proud of our group in the way they tried to make things as difficult as possible for the opposition. Myerscough are a tough match up with their size and athleticism, we did a much better job today in cutting out some of the controllable mistakes from our recent performances’.

Magic were led by Josh Grant with 15 points and Jason Ani with 10 points, whilst Myerscough were led by Sam Keita with 16 points and Bradley Kaboza had 13.

Next week sees The Manchester Magic at home again to SGS, while Myerscough are on the road again to Birmingham Met.
