Newcastle Eagles vs Charnwood Academy

A dominant display from the visitors ensured a comfortable win for Charnwood which saw them defeat Newcastle Eagles 100-46.

 A 21-5 first quarter for the visitors set them up as they forced turnovers and scored easy points in transition. The second quarter was a more even affair behind 10 points from Newcastles Joe Moore, and 6 a piece for Hosana Kitenge and Davenport which gave Charnwood the 18-21 lead in the period.

The pressure from the league leaders continued and as they proved to be the much stronger team. They third was won 32-16 and the 4th 26-7 as they ran out comfortable 46-100 winners.

Newcastle Head Coach, Ian Macleod said: “They’re a very good team, with great fundamentals. Todays result was nothing to do with the tactical side of the game, they were technically better and played at a higher tempo than us, and were comfortable doing so.”

Next week sees Newcastle host Sheffield, as Charnwood travel to James Watt.
