Oaklands College v SEEVIC College

Oaklands recorded a comfortable 97-56 win over SEEVIC College on Wednesday afternoon. Toby Gastaldi-Davies set the tone early on with a quick 3 pointer, although SEEVIC did respond through Zayaam Ali who led all scorers to finish with 35 points

With the score at 25-20 by the end of the 1st quarter, Oaklands College showed glimpses of their potential in the second quarter to hold the visitors to only 9 points while rewarding their defensive efforts on the other end to pour in 25 points of their own.

Despite SEEVIC’s defensive efforts in the 3rd and 4th quarter, the scoring of Ali and impressive rebounding from Harry Gent who finished with 7 points and 18 total rebounds, there was no way back into the game.  Oaklands improved cohesive performance led by Gastaldi Davies, who finished with 20 points, and 5 assists. Abdul Wurie followed closely behind, his 19 points were too much for the away side.

Oaklands College Coach Albert Ziwa said “ I was impressed by the guys response in the 2nd and 3rd quarter , they challenged each other to be better and they showed this with their performance. Toby’s selfless performance impressed me too today, when his shot was not there, he found other ways to give to his teammates. Consistency is key now for the guys, there’s room for improvement.”

Oaklands are away to BHASVIC next week Whilst SEEVIC travel to JMA.
